What is purple, gold and viewed by cheering fans in the fall? The Minnesota Vikings? No. Baltimore Ravens? No. If you said fall wildflowers then you’d be correct! In the spring I took my two children ages 12 and 14, along with their two friends, to look at spring wildflowers. What's on your summer bucket list?

Maybe it was the summer solstice arriving on Saturday morning (June 21 st ) but I started thinking about my summer bucket list. I can't tell you how many times I've  made a list of things I wanted to do over the summer only to find come fall, I haven't  done a single thing on my list. Kids are back in school and the leaves are beginning to fall.  I'm standing in the back yard with a rake in my hand thinking, where did summer go? Warm weather is here and spring wildflower season is already underway! When I read about Cleveland Metroparks Tour of Wildflowers, I thought it sounded like fun and something I could do with my kids over spring break. The first thing I did was signup online at clevelandmetroparks.com . I received a confirmation email along with an official Tour of Wildflowers checklist. Connecting people with nature is a mantra you hear repeated over and over at Cleveland Metroparks. It's verbally spoken by staff and volunteers, written in our mission statements and it's even captured in images featured in marketing materials. It's repeated by Outdoor Experiences, Outdoor Recreation, Special Events and Guest Experiences, Human Resources, Marketing and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
