Donations to the Ranger Department Mounted Unit Fund are a unique way for individuals and organizations to support Cleveland Metroparks Mounted Rangers and their horses. Financial contributions to the Mounted Unit Fund help to provide veterinary care, specialized training and equipment to ensure the safety of all Park District visitors as well as conserve natural resources. Horse and equipment donations are also appreciated based on current needs.

Cleveland Metroparks Ranger Department Mounted Unit was established in 1921 to meet the special needs of ensuring Park District safety. The Mounted Unit is staffed by seven rangers and nine horses that patrol throughout Cleveland Metroparks nearly 23,000 acres, including nearly 100 miles of bridle trails. Cleveland Metroparks Mounted Unit is highly regarded throughout Northeast Ohio and has received numerous professional awards and participated in two Presidential Inaugurals.

Contributions to the Ranger Department Mounted Unit Fund are also a meaningful way to recognize a special horseman. All donors and persons being honored or memorialized will be recognized in Cleveland Metroparks Emerald Necklace newsletter, and the annual Gift of Nature report.
